Mr. Dennis Thompson
President and CEO, DSN Innovations

Mr. Dennis Thompson is the president and CEO of DSN Innovations, a non-profit organization focused on bolstering U.S. manufacturing. He was instrumental in starting the organization in 2003 and served as the executive director. Thompson will deliver opening remarks at the 2009 NCM Forum and has been a vital part of the NCM Forum planning committee since its commencement in 2007.

“This year’s forum focuses on real-world case studies from industry leaders who are implementing Network Centric Manufacturing (NCM),” explained Thompson. “By overcoming distributed manufacturing challenges through NCM, organizations are beginning to see results that include increased agility, collaboration and visibility across dispersed supply chains.”

Thompson has over 30 years of manufacturing expertise, having held various senior level engineering and managerial positions at Chrysler, Stanadyne, Advanced Drainage Systems, Remington Arms and Catalyst Connection.

As an industry leader, Thompson serves on multiple advisory boards including the National Council for Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM), the Penn State Electro Optics-Center and PDES, Inc., an international consortium for developing standards to support model-based engineering, manufacturing and sustainment. He is a frequent speaker on the topic of agile manufacturing as well as the evolution and future of supply chain management for both military and civilian audiences.

Thompson earned an M.S. in business management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the Hartford Graduate Center.
